NEW DELHI: As part of its ongoing investigation into the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam case, ED Saturday attached 34 more properties worth over Rs 40 crore, taking the total value of assets attached so far to over Rs 440 crore. Based on an FIR registered by the Karnataka Lokayuktha, the Enforcement Directorate is investigating a large-scale scam in allotment of sites by MUDA authorities.”Investigation revealed routing and layering of undue gratification obtained by GT Dinesh Kumar, former commissioner of MUDA. The proceeds of crime were used to purchase properties in the name of relatives/associates of Dinesh Kumar. Probe also revealed illegal allotment of 31 MUDA sites by Kumar,” the agency said Monday.

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and his wife are among those facing investigation. Earlier, ED alleged Siddaramaiah had used his influence to get as compensation 14 sites in the name of his wife BM Parvathi, in lieu of three acres and 16 guntas of land acquired by MUDA. A large number of sites, other than the 14 allotted to BM Parvathi, were illegally allotted as compensation to real estate businessmen who sold them at profit and generated unaccounted cash.
