NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday signed a series of key files from his new office complex, Seva Teerth, approving major decisions focused on women, youth, farmers and vulnerable citizens.The decisions taken in the first set of approvals after shifting to the new premises include the launch of the Road Accident Victims Hospitalisation and Assured Treatment (PM RAHAT) scheme for accident victims, doubling the target of Lakhpati Didis to six crore, expanding the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund to Rs 2 lakh crore and clearing Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of Rs 10,000 crore.According to the government, the first decisions from Seva Teerth reflect a spirit of “Seva” and aim to touch every section of society.

PM RAHAT Scheme: Cashless treatment for road accident victims

PM Modi approved the launch of the PM RAHAT scheme, under which road accident victims will be entitled to cashless treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh.The initiative aims to ensure immediate medical care during emergencies, preventing any loss of life due to a lack of funds or delays in treatment.

Lakhpati didis target doubled to 6 crore

The government has crossed the milestone of 3 crore Lakhpati Didis more than a year ahead of the original March 2027 deadline. Building on this, the Prime Minister has set a new target of 6 crore Lakhpati Didis by March 2029. Agriculture infrastructure fund expanded

In a major push to strengthen the agricultural value chain, PM Modi approved doubling the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund from Rs 1 lakh crore to Rs 2 lakh crore.The expanded fund is expected to support post-harvest management infrastructure, storage facilities and other agri-related projects, benefiting farmers across the country.

Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0

To encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, especially in deep tech, advanced manufacturing and early-stage ventures, the Prime Minister cleared the Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of Rs 10,000 crore.The initiative is aimed at supporting the next generation of Indian startups and strengthening the country’s innovation ecosystem.Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister unveiled the name Seva Teerth for the new complex that houses the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat. The inauguration of Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2 marks a significant shift in India’s administrative infrastructure.Seva Teerth brings these key offices under one roof, replacing the earlier arrangement where they functioned from separate locations. Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2 will house several important ministries, including Finance, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, Corporate Affairs, Education, Culture, Law and Justice, Information and Broadcasting, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Tribal Affairs.The government said that the new complexes are designed to create a modern, efficient and citizen-centric governance ecosystem. Built in line with 4-Star GRIHA standards, they incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation measures and smart security infrastructure.The naming of Seva Teerth is part of a broader effort since 2014 to move away from colonial-era nomenclature.
