NEW DELHI: Karnataka deputy CM DK Shivakumar on Saturday met chief minister Siddaramaiah at the latter’s residence in Bengaluru. With the leadership tussle in Karnataka seeing dramatic twists and turns by the hour, chief minister Siddaramaiah, following a nudge from the Congress high command, had invited his deputy, DK Shivakumar, to a breakfast meeting.Soon after the breakfast meet, CM productive discussion on Karnataka’s priorities and the road ahead”. Siddaramaiah said the high command had spoken to both netas and directed them to meet.

“The high command has called both of us, so I have invited him (DK Shivakumar) for breakfast, and we will talk there. As I said earlier, I will accept whatever the high command says; there is no change in my stand. Even he (DK Shivakumar) said that whatever the high command says we’ll follow that…” Siddaramaiah said on Friday.The Congress is likely to discuss the crisis with the central leaders after the party’s strategy group meeting ahead of the winter session of Parliament on November 30.Meanwhile, Shivakumar reiterated that the Congress high command will take any decision regarding the leadership.Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Shivakumar responded to questions about his supporters wanting to see him as the next CM. “The party workers may be eager, but I am in no hurry. The party will take all the decisions,” DK Shivakumar told reporters. He did not rule out a visit to the national capital, though he clarified that his trip would be to raise several key issues with the Congress leadership ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament.Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Shivakumar responded to questions about his supporters wanting to see him as the next CM.BJP calls breakfast meet ‘pure bunkum’ BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan called the breakfast drama, which he said is “nothing but pure bunkum because it is meant to dupe and cheat the people of Karnataka”.”It is a most unbecoming and selfish slugfest for the CM’s musical chair by these two leaders. It exposes the directionless politics of the Congress party and their selfish politics in particular, and also the dysfunctional leadership of the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi,” he said.”Now they are washing dirty linen in public, and the war on social media shows that the Karnataka Congress government is unstable,” the BJP leader said.
