Jharkhand: Hardcore Naxalite Amit Handsa carrying Rs 10 lakh bounty killed in Chaibasa; security forces recover huge cache of weapons

NEW DELHI: A hardcore naxalite Amit Hansda was shot down in an encounter with security forces on Sunday in Jharkhand’s Chaibasa.According to officials, Hansda was a Zonal Commander, carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakh declared against him.Officials also recovered cache of weapons including an SLR rifle. Spokesperson Jharkhand Police and IG Operations, Michaelraj S said that Hansda was killed in a joint operation of COBRA battalion of Central reserve police force and district police.(This is a developing story)
