India now trilateral tech partners with Canada & Australia

PM Modi with Australian PM Anthony Albanese and his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Johannesburg

Modi said in a post on social media platform ‘X’ that he had an excellent meeting with Albanese and Carney on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg and that the leaders were delighted to announce an Australia-Canada-India Technology and Innovation (ACITI) Partnership.According to the Prime Minister, the initiative will deepen collaboration between democratic partners across three continents and three oceans in emerging technologies, support diversification of supply chains, clean energy and mass adoption of AI.”We look forward to working together to guarantee a better future for the coming generations,” he said.The initiative will draw on the natural strengths of the three countries and lay emphasis on green energy innovation and building resilient supply chains, including in critical minerals, said the three countries in a joint statement.”It will deepen their respective ambition and strategic collaboration towards net zero and drive further diversification of supply chains towards a secure, sustainable, and resilient future. The Partnership will also examine the development and mass adoption of artificial intelligence to improve the lives of our citizens,” said the statement, adding that they agreed that officials should convene in the first quarter of 2026 to take the initiative forward.
