NEW DELHI: 4 tourists are among those killed in the Goa nightclub fire. Goa police have confirmed 25 deaths and six injuries due to the mishap. At least 100 people were on the dance floor of a nightclub in North Goa when a fire broke out, and they attempted to escape.The devastating fire at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora, North Goa, has left 25 people dead, according to a police spokesperson. The victims include four tourists and 14 staff members, while the identities of seven others are still being confirmed.

Six people were injured in the blaze and are currently receiving treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim.The cause of the fire remains unknown. Police and fire department officials are investigating the incident, and legal action is in progress, the spokesperson said.Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that initial findings suggest the nightclub had violated fire safety norms. He added that further inquiry is underway to determine the exact cause and that those responsible will face strict action. “The incident is very unfortunate for a tourism state like Goa. The people who run such things illegally, and a fire incident occurred…23 people have lost their lives…The government will conduct an inquiry into this incident,” said the CM, “The inquiry will examine the exact cause of the fire, and those found responsible will face the most stringent action under the law.”According to the news agency PTI, Goa CM has confirmed that a FIR has been lodged against owner and general manager of nightclub.
