JAMMU: J&K police and its counter-intelligence unit conducted simultaneous raids on Jammu’s high security Kot Bhalwal Central Jail and Poonch Jail Wednesday as part of the ongoing crackdown on the terror ecosystem linked to the Faridabad-based terror module responsible for the Nov 10 suicide blast near Delhi’s Red Fort.“These two jails house hardcore Pakistani and local terrorists. The raids are part of an operation to bust terror networks running from inside the prisons,” an official said.IGP Bhim Sen Tuti visited the border district of Poonch and reviewed the security situation.In the past three days, security forces have intensified their operations across the state, raiding the residences of terror sympathizers and overground workers. Authorities raided Doda district jail on Nov 11 and detained 15 suspects including surrendered terrorists, a day after a similar surprise inspection at Rajouri district jail.
