Fake PwBD docus, attempts at remote access in CGLE tier-1

NEW DELHI: Instances of malpractice brought to notice of Staff Selection Commission (SSC) during the first tier of the computer-based Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) 2025 completed Friday include submission of fake documents to qualify as ‘persons with benchmark disabilities’ (PwBD) and attempts at remote access.Around 13.5 lakh candidates spread over 126 cities appeared in tier-1 of CGLE, which was conducted over 15 days that ended Friday. The exam for one shift at a Mumbai centre was disrupted on Friday due to a fire incident. Some candidates who produced fake PwBD documents were apprehended. Regarding detected attempts at remote access, an analysis is underway. “Such vigilance to tackle attempts at remote takeover will continue by deploying relevant technical solutions,” SSC said Friday.Candidates against whom there is clear evidence of malpractice will be debarred. However, where the evidence is insufficient or ambiguous, candidates will be allowed to re-appear on Oct 14.As many as 18,920 submissions were received on the feedback portal. Some complaints relate to technical disruptions and were cross-checked with digital footprints. After due analysis, it was decided to let the affected candidates retake the test. Requests for exam date-change were also accommodated.”Operational and venue issues will be examined and taken into consideration for future exams,” said SSC.
