Sourcing LPG cylinders now easy for students, daily wage earners

To aid migrant workers, students and daily wage earners, the government has now permitted 5kg free trade LPG cylinders. This means obtaining a 5kg LPG cylinder would not require address proof. The user is only required to possess a valid ID and self-declaration for domestic use. LPG Distributors Federation President Chandra Prakash hailed the move, while the petroleum ministry noted surging DAC-based deliveries at 90% and over 6.6 lakh cylinders sold since March 23.
