The ministry of external affairs (MEA) issued a statement regarding recent acts of violence in Bangladesh targeting Hindus and other minority communities, emphasising these incidents cannot be dismissed as mere “media exaggeration” or “political violence.” “We strongly condemn the recent brutal killing of a Hindu youth in Mymensingh and urge that the perpetrators be brought to justice,” said MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. Vijay Hazare Trophy: Angkrish Raghuvanshi hospitalised after serious head injury

Mumbai batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi sustained a serious head injury in Jaipur during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Uttarakhand. The 21-year-old, who was fielding at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, had to be stretchered off the field immediately ans as rushed to the hospital. Hyderabad woman allegedly set on fire by husband, succumbs to injuries

A 26-year-old woman, Chityala Triveni, was allegedly set on fire by her husband inside their rented house in Tilak Nagar, Hyderabad. Triveni succumbed to her injuries at Gandhi Hospital around 4 am. Her husband, 32-year-old daily-wage labourer K Venkatesh, was arrested. Probe revealed that the couple’s son told authorities that his father woke him up, showed him a bottle of petrol, took him outside, and gave him a samosa while saying, “your mother will die today.” Read full story
