Prime Minister Narendra Modi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed the media ahead of the Parliament Winter Session. He spoke about country’s strong democratic tradition, saying that “India has lived democracy”. The zeal and enthusiasm of democracy have been expressed time and again in such a way that faith in democracy continues to grow stronger.”He added, “Our Parliament must stay focused on what it is thinking for the country and what it intends to deliver.”The prime minister also told the opposition to move past their election defeat and focus on raising issues that will help the public.Coming out all guns at the opposition bloc, he said, “The opposition too should fulfil its responsibility and come out of its sadness of losing.”PM Narendra Modi said, “Whoever wants to do drama can do it. There should be delivery here and not drama…the emphasis should be on policy, not slogans.”He also lauded the record voter turnout in Bihar and the NDA’s big win in the recent state elections. The Winter Session of Parliament begins on Monday, the first of December, and will run until December 19.
