NEW DELHI: CCTV footage has captured the moment of the powerful explosion from the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday, which left several vehicles in flames. At least 12 people were killed and multiple others injured in the incident, officials said. The footage shows a busy, bustling street near the historic Red Fort, followed by a sudden flash of bright yellow light lasting a few seconds — the moment the explosion occurred. According to Delhi Police sources quoted by the PTI news agency, the white Hyundai i20 that exploded near the Red Fort Metro Station parking was allegedly driven by Mohammad Umar, a Kashmiri doctor suspected to be behind the attack. Umar, a resident of J&K’s Pulwama, is believed to have links with a terror module recently busted in Faridabad.Police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and are examining CCTV footage from the area to trace the suspect’s movements before the blast.
