NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to elect its new national president, with Nitin Nabin, the party’s national working president, expected to file his nomination for the top post at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday. The organisational event, known as Sangathan Parv, is expected to draw chief ministers from BJP-ruled states, state unit chiefs, and senior leaders. The nomination process will be held between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm, followed by scrutiny from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm.

BJP’s Succession Script Repeats: Why Nitin Nabin Is Working President, And Not Nadda’s Replacement

Candidates may withdraw their nominations between 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm, after which the national election officer will issue a press statement at 6.30 pm.Backed by senior party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Nitin Nabin is expected to be elected as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s 12th national president, potentially becoming the youngest to hold the post. The party’s electoral college, made up of representatives from the national council and state councils, will finalise the election. Under the BJP constitution, a candidate must be jointly proposed by at least 20 members of a state’s electoral college and have at least 15 years of party membership. If the process proceeds as scheduled, the BJP is expected to announce its new national president tomorrow. Union Minister JP Nadda currently heads the BJP at the national level, with Nitin Nabin’s expected appointment widely seen as a signal of the party’s renewed emphasis on youth leadership. Since becoming National Working President, Nabin has been closely involved in preparations for upcoming state assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, West Bengal and Puducherry.”This is a moment of joy for Bihar, and also a historic day for the BJP, that Nitin Nabin will file his nomination as the youngest National President, and tomorrow we will meet Nitin Nabin as our new National President… Under his leadership, the BJP will become even stronger…This is a day of pride for Bihar, and I thank Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and JP Nadda… In the BJP, an ordinary man, a worker sitting in the last row, can also become the party’s National President,” Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said on Monday, as cited by ANI.Nabin, 45, was appointed the BJP’s national working president on December 14, 2025. If appointed as the national president of the party, he would become the youngest leader to hold the position. Go to Source
