Congress uses China trade surplus to attack Modi government

NEW DELHI: After China announced a record trade surplus, Congress in a swipe at BJP Wednesday alleged a “carefully calibrated capitulation” to Beijing and cited netas of BJP and RSS “hobnobbing” with a high-level Chinese Communist Party delegation.Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh on X said, “China has just announced that it had a record trade surplus of $1.2 trillion in 2025. This means that its trade surplus with India alone was about 10% of the total.””It should not be surprising though given our carefully callibrated capitulation to China – an example of which was just seen with the way the BJP and RSS leaders were hobnobbing with a high-level Chinese Communist Party delegation day before,” Ramesh added.A high-level delegation of Communist Party of China visited BJP headquarters on Monday and interacted with the governing party’s leaders. On Tuesday, the Chinese delegation called on RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale.
