KOLKATA: BJP Friday alleged “file chori” by Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee during ED raids at I-PAC office in Kolkata and sought governor’s intervention. A BJP delegation submitted a memorandum to governor C V Ananda Bose and urged him to seek a report from state govt on the nature of documents “that were removed”. BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad said the search was neither conducted at CM’s residence or office, nor at any TMC office. Despite that, she “went inside a private property and snatched the papers,” he said. Alleging that Thursday’s episode “erased the line between the party and state, BJP said the CM decided to “confront investigating agencies on the streets instead of seeking remedies through the courts”. LoP in state assembly Suvendu Adhikari said, “The ED officers could have been hurt if they tried to prevent Mamata.”
