BJP attacks oppn for not allowing House discussion on leaks

NEW DELHI: BJP Thursday sought to turn the heat on Congress and its allies over the issue of paper leaks as its MPs raised slogans and carried placards in the Parliament complex, targeting Rahul Gandhi and opposition netas for not allowing a discussion on the issue despite govt’s willingness to do so.BJP president Nitin Nabin accused Rahul of running away from debate, asserting that Congress feared that its double-standards would be exposed in Parliament if discussion happened, given that the Opposition had only misled and deceived the youth during its long stint in office.”I dare them to a debate, but Rahul and his allies will not agree. The NDA govt has shaped the future of the youth in the right direction,” he said, highlighting that India is now being recognised for its start-ups and unicorns. Congress looks at the youth as nothing but stone-pelters, he said, adding the young population is with PM Modi. Former minister Anurag Thakur asked the Opposition not to play petty politics with students’ future. Instead of running away, they should participate in a debate in Parliament, he said, lauding Modi’s announcement for setting up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those behind paper leaks. Another party MP, Sudhanshu Trivedi, said BJP and its allies are fully sensitive to the situation.
