NEW DELHI: RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday launched a strong attack on the Bihar government, accusing chief minister Nitish Kumar of neglecting the state’s development.Calling Bihar the poorest state in India, Yadav said Nitish Kumar had failed to attract industries and investments. He vowed that if elected chief minister, he would focus on industrial growth and job creation.“Bihar is the poorest state in India, with the lowest per capita income. People still have to migrate for education, healthcare, and employment. There are no factories or investments in the state. The CM doesn’t even attend the NITI Aayog meetings, let alone bringing in investments,” the RJD leader said.Addressing a rally in Gogri, Khagaria, Yadav said, “We need to make Bihar number one, for which there is a need to bring investments, promote education and ensure proper health facilities.”“We will set up factories in the state and bring investment to take Bihar on the development trajectory,” he added.Earlier in the day, Yadav also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi following his visit to Bihar, claiming that every word of the Prime Minister’s speech was “negative” and “defamatory” toward the state. Speaking to reporters, he accused Modi of “deceiving” the people of Bihar and alleged that whatever the Prime Minister has provided to the state “is not even one per cent of what was given to Gujarat.”The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the results scheduled to be announced on November 14.
