NEW DELHI: Union minister and BJP national president JP Nadda upped the attack on the Mahagathbandhan, hours after the alliance announced Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial face, asserting that the fight in Bihar this time was between ‘vikas’ (development) vs ‘vinash’ (destruction).“Patepur is among the constituencies where voting will take place in the first phase on November 6. It’s an election between ‘vikas’ and ‘vinash’. The NDA stands for development. The image of Bihar has changed under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar and PM Modi,” said JP Nadda during an election rally at Goh in Aurangabad,The BJP president went on to reveal that he had spent his childhood in Bihar and remembered the “darkness of that era.” He said, “Very few people know that I was born in Patna, Bihar. I spent 20 years of my childhood in Bihar. I know that era of darkness, and I also see this era of light. Today, this election clearly shows ‘vikas’ with the NDA and ‘vinash’ with the Mahagathbandhan.””Remember the Jungle Raj. I spent my childhood in Bihar. I saw those days when you couldn’t go out after 4 pm. Kidnapping had become an industry. And the saddest thing is that this industry was being run not from anywhere else, but from the residence of the then chief minister. Ransom negotiations were made at the chief minister’s residence,” said the Union minister.JP Nadda further added, “Lalu Yadav used to say that if the road is built, the police will come and arrest you. This was the argument. Today, he’s talking about migration. Lalu Yadav used to say that our people from Bihar go out wearing a towel and return wearing a tie and suit. He viewed migration this way.”Nadda also slammed Congress during his address. Quoting the Telangana CM, he said that Congress has spoken ill about Bihar in the past, and it cannot be tolerated. “The Congress party has always spoken ill of Bihar. Revanth Reddy is the CM of Telangana. He says that the DNA of the people of Telangana is better than the DNA of Bihar. Can we tolerate such things?”Praising the NDA’s achievements, Nadda credited chief minister Nitish Kumar for putting an end to “Jungle Raj” and said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Bihar is witnessing rapid development, with major projects in railways, airports, and agriculture transforming the state.
