The contest has largely been between the JD(U)-led NDA and the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, with voters witnessing a dynamic and high-stakes political battle.More than 3.7 crore voters are expected to cast their ballots across 45,399 polling stations, deciding the fate of 1,302 candidates. The election has brought both familiar and new faces into the spotlight—ranging from Nitish Kumar from JD(U) and Tejashwi Yadav from RJD, to emerging competitors such as the Jan Suraaj Party. Some key constituencies have drawn particular attention—Mahua with Tej Pratap Yadav, Raghopur with Tejashwi Yadav, and Raghunathpur, where Osama Shahab makes his debut. The INDIA bloc is also witnessing some friendly contests in select seats, adding another layer of intrigue to the race.As polling wraps up, all eyes will turn to the exit polls. However, the Election Commission of India has directed agencies not to publish any exit poll data until the second phase of voting concludes completely.

When and where to watch?

The results are expected to start coming in 30 minutes after voting concludes, from 6:30 p.m. onward. Stay tuned to The Times of India for live updates and the latest trends from the exit polls.

Second phase of Bihar elections 2025

The second phase of the Bihar polls is taking place on November 11, across 20 districts for 122 constituencies. Some of the key seats from this phase of elections are Gaya Town, Katihar and Supaul. The second phase is crucial for both alliances as they make their final push, some trying to make a breakthrough while others contesting to retain the seats in the key constituencies.

Voter turnouts in Phase 1

The voter turnout itself reflects the strong enthusiasm among the people of Bihar during this year’s assembly elections. According to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar, the first phase recorded a “historic” turnout of 65.08 per cent, with women voters participating in particularly large numbers. This marks the highest turnout since 1998, which had recorded 64.6 per cent, breaking a 27-year-old record.

What are exit polls?

Exit polls are surveys taken via questioning voters right after they cast their votes. It differs from opinion polls as it is based on who the voters have already cast their votes for. The exit poll survey gives an early idea of who the voters are leaning towards. Since it is not possible to survey each voter, the trained groups keep the range to reflect the various backgrounds of the voters. Go to Source
