Big governor reshuffle: Rashtrapati Bhavan issues orders for changes across 9 states and UTs – full list

Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday announced a major gubernatorial reshuffle involving several states and Union Territories, including Delhi, Ladakh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Nagaland.According to an official communiqué issued by the President’s office, several governor s and lieutenant governor s have been transferred or newly appointed as part of the changes. The appointments will take effect from the dates the respective appointees assume charge of their offices.

Among the key changes, Vinai Kumar Saxena, the current Lieutenant governor of Delhi, has been appointed as the Lieutenant governor of Ladakh. Former Indian ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been named as the new Lieutenant governor of Delhi.

In another move, Shiv Pratap Shukla, who is currently serving as the governor of Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed as the governor of Telangana. Jishnu Dev Varma, the present governor of Telangana, has been transferred and appointed as the governor of Maharashtra.The President has also appointed Nand Kishore Yadav as the governor of Nagaland, while retired Army officer Lt. General (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain has been named as the governor of Bihar. Further, RN Ravi, the governor of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the governor of West Bengal. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, currently governor of Kerala, will discharge the functions of the governor of Tamil Nadu.In another change, Kavinder Gupta, the Lieutenant governor of Ladakh, has been appointed as the governor of Himachal Pradesh.
