SRINAGAR: Hundreds of people, including women, carrying placards of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei marched through Leh on Monday to express solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and accused the US and Israel of conspiring against the country.The protest was organised by Anjuman Imamia Leh, an influential Shia organisation in the region.The demonstrators said they had obtained prior permission from the district administration to hold the march.Earlier, on Jan 14, massive protests were seen in Kargil, with Shia protesters raising slogans against Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. In Kargil, the rally was organised under the banner of the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) and it was led by its chairman, Sheikh Sadiq Rajai.Several women also addressed the gathering.
