ZZ Top, the renowned rock band, abruptly cancelled their concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, which they were set to perform on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Citing ‘personal matters’ and ‘insurmountable obstacles,’ the band announced their withdrawal from the performance at the last minute. ZZ Top cancels the performance in Los Angeles
ZZ Top posted the message on social media without stating the reason. “ZZ Top management has just announced that the band’s concert with Cheap Trick at the Hollywood Bowl slated for today, August 5, has been cancelled,” the statement read, before adding, “The ZZ Top tour has unforeseen personnel matters that have forced the band to cancel its appearance at the Los Angeles landmark.”Frontman Billy F. Gibbons offered a cryptic explanation in the same post, stating, “Insurmountable obstacles require cancelling our Hollywood Bowl performance,” he said, and added, “Friends, fans and followers of ZZ Top are the best in the business, and the band is counting on everyone to bear with us for this brief interruption.”The band did not mention whether they would reschedule the concert. As for Cheap Trick, the show will continue but at a smaller Los Angeles location. “In place of the now-cancelled scheduled Aug 5th show, we will be playing a very special, intimate show at The Troubadour in West Hollywood!” Cheap Trick penned on Instagram, adding, “Come down for a very special evening with us!”ZZ Top’s next show on August 7 at the Hollywood Bowl is still scheduled and has not been cancelled by management. An additional 40 shows in North America and South America are scheduled for the rest of 2026.
