Zubeen Garg’s FAKE post-mortem report goes viral

Zubeen Garg’s fake post-mortem report goes viral, Assam CID warns strict legal action

Since Zubeen Garg’s demise, all his fans have been waiting for clarity on the singer’s passing. Adding to the confusion, a fake post-mortem report has been circulating widely on social media, causing alarm among the public. The Assam Crime Investigation Department (CID) has confirmed that the report is entirely false and has issued a strict warning against spreading misinformation.

Assam CID says report is entirely fake

Sharing the false post-mortem report, Assam CID posted on X (previously Twitter), “The so-called Post Mortem Report is not authentic as it doesn’t even bear the signatures of any Doctors/Experts. Assam Police is coming after each and everyone spreading such kind of Fake news/Documents.” This clarification has come up, amid ongoing investigations into Zubeen Garg’s demise in Singapore last month. Authorities have made it clear that strict action will be taken against anyone spreading false information or documents related to the case.

Court sends five accused to judicial custody

As reported by PTI, five people connected to Zubeen Garg’s demise were sent to judicial custody after their police remand ended. The accused include North East India Festival (NEIF) chief organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, Zubeen’s manager Siddhartha Sharma, his cousin and police officer Sandipan Garg, and his personal security officers (PSOs) Nandeswar Bora and Prabin Baishya. The Kamrup Chief Judicial Magistrate expressed concern for their safety and ordered their transfer to Baksa Jail at Mussalpur, a newly inaugurated facility with minimal inmates.

Police outlines background of arrests and charges

The report further revealed, Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddhartha Sharma were arrested on October 1 in Delhi in connection with Zubeen Garg’s demise in Singapore. They were booked under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, criminal conspiracy, and causing demise by negligence. Murder charges were later added. They were held in police custody for 14 days, which ended on Tuesday.Zubeen’s cousin and Assam Police DSP, Sandipan Garg, was arrested on October 8 and remanded to seven days of police custody. He had accompanied the singer to Singapore and was present on the yacht during Zubeen’s final moments.Zubeen Garg’s two PSOs were arrested on October 10 and remanded to five-day police custody. Two others, band members Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and singer Amritprava Mahanta, had been arrested on October 3 and remanded to 14-day police custody.

Separate investigation launched against organiser Mahanta

The CID has also started a separate probe against Shyamkanu Mahanta for alleged organised financial crimes and acquiring large amounts of ‘benami’ properties through money laundering. The Assam government had set up a 10-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe Zubeen Garg’s demise in Singapore, which occurred due to drowning in the sea on September 19.More than 60 FIRs have been filed across Assam against Mahanta, Sharma, and several others. The Assam chief minister instructed the DGP to transfer all FIRs to the CID and register a consolidated case for a thorough investigation. Go to Source
