The AVM company founded by his father has produced more than 300 films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, making a unique mark in Indian cinema. Saravanan, who was involved in cinema from a child, learned everything from production, distribution, and story selection under his father’s guidance from the age of 18. Later, after his father’s death, he took over the company along with his brothers Kumaran and Balasubramaniam. His calm determination and timely decisions are the solid pillar for AVM’s survival in the cinema industry.

AVM Saravanan’s storytelling sense was amazing. His many suggestions later helped the films become unstoppable successes. It is known from an interview he gave that he was the one who first suggested that Sivaji should be cast in the film ‘Uyarndha Manithan.’ The film ran for 100 days and was a huge success. His perspective played a key role behind many hit films of leading stars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Vijayakanth.
