Who is Prahlad Kakkar?

Who is Prahlad Kakkar, ad-maker, who dropped big revelations about Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai's relationship?

Prahlad Kakkar, the advertisement expert who set the intricate threads of Bollywood on fire, has been trending all over the media for his eyebrow-raising insights from the decades-old era. The 75-year-old veteran commented about Priyanka Chopra and her decision to revamp her career, along with the infamous relationship between Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. Here’s a look at who Pralhad Kakkar is.

Who is Prahlad Kakkar?

With 45 years of experience and 5010 ads, Prahlad Kakkar’s USP is ‘To tell a story in 30 secs in the most engaging way possible,’ which he indeed did through his words. The filmmaker has been an assistant to the late legendary Shyam Benegal and worked with him for ‘Ankur,’ ‘ Nishant,’ ‘Manthan,’ and ‘Bhumika’ between 1974 and 1977. However, he soon ventured out to open his own television advertisement production house and has been a leading contender since, according to his official website. Moreover, Kakkar has won accolades for his creative instincts at the International Advertising Festival, such as Cannes and the Lion Awards. Before joining hands with Benegal, Kakkar called himself a ‘glorified peon,’ as he was about to work at a bank before he worked at an ad firm as an executive. “Found myself to be a horrible copywriter, I was made an executive person, but was actually a glorified peon,” he said in an old interview with TOI city news.

Prahlad Kakkar’s personal life

Prahlad Kakkar has been married to Mitali Dutt Kakkar for more than 40 years, and shares three children: Arnav, Varun, and Anajinsama. During the two-decade-old interview, he opened up about his dyslexia and how he argues with his wife about his wedding date. Furthermore, Kakkar chronicled his restaurants, some of which shut down, but one still thrives on the lanes of Bandra. Previously, he started a restaurant with Jennifer Kapoor at Prithvi Theatre, but it was closed after she passed away. Another was ‘Sarsoo Daa Saag,’ which turned into a loss-making venture after the government took over. Currently, he owns ‘Papa Pancho,’ which is known for its Punjabi cuisine. Go to Source
