The 52-year-old artist, who rose to fame with the hit song Ya Ali from the Bollywood film Gangster, lost his life in a scuba diving accident. The singer first complained of uneasiness and later collapsed in the washroom of a resort in Dibrugarh. He was rushed to a private super-specialty hospital, where doctors revealed he had suffered an epileptic fit.A senior specialist, Dr. Rana Barua, had confirmed that while Garg was stable, he had sustained a head injury during the fall and required stitches.At the time, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma instructed the Dibrugarh deputy commissioner to ensure the singer received “the best possible medical treatment.” The CM even said that if necessary, Garg could be shifted outside Guwahati by air ambulance for advanced care.
