Back when Shakti Kapoor was shooting for ‘Mumbai Can Dance Saala’ in Jaipur, he opened up about playing a fashion designer in the film. He shared that his long career in showbiz helped him slip into the role with ease and bring authenticity to the character. Shakti recalled observing the glam world closely over the years and mentioned that many male fashion designers he worked with were gay, which he felt added another layer of realism to the role he portrayed.In an earlier interview with TOI, the ‘Satte Pe Satta’ actor stated, “In fact, girls feel quite safe in their company. I have also noticed that they are emotional, sensitive, possessive and they get hurt very easily.”

Shakti Kapoor’s career journey

In an earlier interview with TOI, Shakti Kapoor reflected on how much his career has evolved. “There was a time when I used to be working on 40 films a year and they all portrayed me in a negative role. Thankfully , now the scenario has changed and I am getting different roles. I have a different role in each of the films I am currently shooting for. It doesn’t matter if I am not getting 40 films a year as whatever roles I am being offered are substantial one, Shakti said. Shakti Kapoor on smoking in a public placeThere was a time when Shakti Kapoor grabbed headlines after a Jaipur-based lawyer filed a complaint against him for smoking in a public place. The incident took place at the city’s Sanganer Airport, where he was spotted lighting up despite restrictions. Looking back at the controversy, Shakti had responded to the reports and shared his side of the story. “I just came out of the airport and did not know this. As I started smoking, one of the security personnel came to me and asked me to go in a corner and smoke. I did that. Later I was also asked to pay a fine of `200, which I paid then and there only . I have sent the receipt to be presented before the honorary court.”
