When Chunky Panday shared immense pride in being Ananya Panday’s dad

Throwback to when Chunky Panday shared immense pride in being Ananya Panday's dad; 'I always want to be known as that'

Ananya Panday quickly became one of Bollywood’s most talked-about young stars after her debut in 2019 in the movie ‘Student of the Year 2’. Her father, veteran actor Chunky Panday, has always been her biggest cheerleader. In a heartfelt throwback interview, Chunky shared just how much joy he gets from his daughter’s success. He even revealed a touching family story that makes his pride even more special. It’s clear that being known as Ananya’s dad is a title he wears with honor.

Chunky Panday feels proud being Ananya Panday’s father

Chunky Panday expressed immense happiness about his daughter Ananya’s rising career. He finds that seeing her succeed brings him even more joy than his own past achievements. “When my success was happening I was too busy working,” Chunky told IANS. But watching Ananya’s journey unfold is different. “It really makes me proud and it is 10-fold more to see a child succeed at something.”Panday stated unequivocally, “Yes, I am proud to be Ananya Panday’s dad and I always want to be known as that.” He also lovingly mentioned his younger daughter, Rysa, saying he wants to be known as her dad too.

A touching parallel with his own father

Chunky shared a moving story about his own father that mirrored his feelings for Ananya. Before Chunky became an actor, he was known as the son of his famous doctor parents. “I was always known as Doctor Panday’s son, naughty son,” he remembered. However, after Chunky achieved fame in 1987, the dynamic shifted. His father attended a conference and was introduced on stage not just as a doctor, but also as “actor Chunky Panday’s father.” Chunky recalled his father’s excitement, saying, “My father was so excited… he called me up on an STD line and said ‘Chunky, I am very proud of you. I have been introduced as your father’.”

Ananya Panday’s continued rise

Ananya has tackled diverse roles, earning critical acclaim for recent performances in films like ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ and ‘Kesari Chapter 2’, and the series ‘Call Me Bae’. Her journey continues with exciting upcoming projects. Fans can look forward to seeing her in the romantic comedies ‘Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri’ and ‘Chand Mera Dil’.
