When Salman Khan acted differently around Bhagyashree during ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’
In a new interview on Kovid Gupta Films, Bhagyashree, in 2024, recalled working on her debut movie ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ with Salman Khan. She mentioned that the actor was always helpful and extremely good to her on set, but something changed during the shoot of the iconic song, ‘Dil Deewana.’ The shoot was in Ooty, and it was her first outdoor schedule. Away from her home, and her then-boyfriend, and now husband, Himalaya Dasani, Bhagyashree was feeling all blue. And amid this, Salman Khan started acting differently with her. “He would follow me around and keep singing the song, and I was like, ‘What’s happening here?’ recalled the actress.
The mystery behind Salman Khan’s behaviour
Bhagyashree was sure at one time that Salman Khan was crossing a line by flirting with her. However, the truth was way different then what the actress felt. Once Salman took Bhagyashree to the side and said, ‘I know!’Confused, when Bhagyashree asked what he was talking about, Salman said, “I know who you’re in love with. Why don’t you call Himalaya here?”The actress was taken aback by his reaction, realizing that he was aware of her relationship with Himalaya Dasani, which made his behavior seem different to her.

What started as a fun moment quickly transformed into a deep friendship, with Salman becoming her trusted confidant. In fact, he and the director of her debut film, Sooraj Barjatiya, stood by her side at her wedding with Himalaya, when her family couldn’t make it. “When we got married, Salman and Sooraj ji were the people from my side because my family didn’t attend my wedding,” recalled the actress.
