War 2 eyes USD 4 million mark in North America

Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 eyes USD 4 million mark in North America, crosses Rs 214.50 Cr in India

Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 is performing well at the global box office. It is approaching USD 4 million in North America. The film is competing with Rajinikanth’s Coolie. War 2 has earned Rs 214.50 crore domestically. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha is the next film in the Spy Universe. Alpha will release during Christmas weekend.

Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s much-anticipated action spectacle War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji continues its slow but steady march at the global box office. In North America, War 2 has collected USD 3.83 million in 9 days, and is now poised to breach the USD 4 million milestone as it completes its 10-day run.The film clash with Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s massive film Coolie on 14th August, the film took a massive lead over the spy sequel. But over the past few days War 2 has been collecting more than Coolie hence the upsurge in collection can be seen. On its 9th day, the film added USD 98,000, maintaining a stable pace despite strong competition from other Indian releases such as Coolie and Mahavatar Narsimha. Out of its total, the Telugu version has contributed USD 807,000. The number looks huge but given Jr NTR’s star power the number fades in comparison to his last two films Devara: PArt 1 and RRR. The film’s opening weekend was particularly impressive, grossing USD 3.094 million.Domestically, War 2 has collected Rs 214.50 crore in just 10 days, making it one of the year’s top performers. While Hrithik Roshan’s return as Kabir has given Hindi audiences plenty to cheer for, Jr NTR’s addition has expanded the film’s reach across South Indian markets, particularly in Telugu-speaking regions. In North America, industry trackers predict the film will comfortably cross the USD 4 million mark by its 10th day, putting it in elite company among Indian films to achieve such numbers within such a short span. The next installment in the Spy Universe is going to be Alpha headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari with Bobby Deol playing the antagonist. The film directed by Shiv Rawail of The Railway Men fame is slated to release on Christmas weekend. And if rumours are true it would be clashing with Kartik Aryan and Sreeleela’s love story directed by Anurag Basu.
