Vivek guides Karan on ‘Desi Bling’

Vivek Oberoi guides Karan Kundrra on 'Desi Bling'; recalls bridge proposal to wife Priyanka Alva: 'Felt like a movie scene'

Actor Vivek Oberoi recently revisited a special chapter from his personal life and shared details about the proposal that changed his journey forever. The actor opened up about the memorable moment during a behind-the-scenes segment from Netflix’s reality show ‘Desi Bling’. The discussion happened during a sequence involving television actor Karan Kundrra. Karan visited Vivek’s jewellery brand while searching for a ring for his long-time partner Tejasswi Prakash. Vivek then decided to reveal how he planned one of the biggest moments of his life.

Family helped Vivek Oberoi pull off the surprise

The actor explained that the proposal was not a spontaneous decision but a carefully arranged surprise involving family members as well. According to Vivek, he coordinated with Priyanka’s family before setting everything in motion. He revealed that he spoke to his future mother-in-law and brother-in-law and convinced them to send Priyanka to Florence without telling her what awaited her. While Priyanka travelled there, Vivek had already begun preparing for the special day. He wanted every detail to feel personal and memorable.

Hotel room was filled with surprises

The actor further revealed that several arrangements had already been made before Priyanka reached the hotel. He had organized gifts and carefully selected items for her. The room reportedly included jewellery, clothes, footwear and a handwritten message that guided her toward the next step of the surprise. The note eventually directed Priyanka to a bridge where Vivek had been waiting. The actor later described the emotional proposal moment in his own words. “And I was standing there on the bridge in my tux, with the engagement ring in my hand. I went down on one knee.”

Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka’s journey together

Vivek and Priyanka later married on October 29, 2010, in Bengaluru through a traditional South Indian wedding ceremony. The couple later welcomed two children, Vivaan Veer and Ameyaa Nirvana. Over the years, Vivek has often shared messages expressing admiration and gratitude for his wife. He has frequently spoken about the important role she plays within the family. Earlier this year during Mother’s Day celebrations, Vivek also shared an emotional note dedicated to Priyanka. “My wife Priyanka is that anchor for our children Vivaan and Ameyaa. It is the same beautiful cycle being repeated in front of me, and this time I get to experience it from the other side. In the way she listens to our children and the kindness she has planted in their hearts, Priyanka is building their future with the love and patience only a mother can.”On the work front, Vivek was last seen in the Malayalam film ‘Kaduva’, where he portrayed IG Joseph Chandy IPS.
