Vishnu reveals 9 films dropped post ‘Ratsasan’

Vishnu Vishal reveals 9 films dropped post 'Ratsasan', explains why he started his own production house

Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal revealed the challenges he continues to face in Kollywood even after delivering successful films. Vishnu spoke about his disappointment over the lack of support from actors and producers in the film industry. During the promotions of his upcoming movie ‘Aaryan’, the actor admitted that the situation “pains and saddens” him, especially after hits like ‘Ratsasan’, ‘Gatta Kusthi’, and ‘FIR: Faizal Ibrahim Raiz’.He revealed that several projects committed to him post-Ratsasan were abruptly dropped. “For Gatta Kusthi, we had six producers turn us down at the last minute. For Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran, four producers changed, and for FIR, we had three producers back out. Nine films that were committed to me post the success of Ratsasan were dropped,” he stated.

Taking matters into his own hands

Due to these repeated setbacks, Vishnu decided to turn producer to ensure his work reached the audience without unnecessary delays. “Even after giving hits like Gatta Kusthi and FIR, I had to wait three years for my next film. That’s why I started my own production house. Once I took over production, it just took me one year to release this movie and come back on screen,” he explained. He clarified that his grievances are not aimed at any individual but stem from a broader lack of encouragement from both producers and fellow actors.

Vishnu says he has the habit of encouraging young actors

Vishnu also spoke about his desire for recognition from industry peers. “I have noticed that when my films release and become a success, none of the actors I admire have called me even once to wish me in person. But when the film is successful, they will call my director and not speak to me at all,” he said. Expressing his passion for cinema, Vishnu added, “I have a habit of encouraging young actors. If a good film comes out, I will appreciate it.”Sadly, Vishnu says that he didn’t get that kind of encouragement from others.
