Virat Kohli skips photos as daughter Vamika waits in the car at the airport sans Anushka Sharma, says ‘beti ko ghar leke jaana hai’, netizens back him

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have long maintained firm boundaries when it comes to their family’s privacy, especially regarding their children, Vamika and Akaay. The couple has repeatedly requested photographers and media outlets to refrain from capturing or sharing images of their kids. A recent incident involving Virat at the airport has once again highlighted that stance.A video circulating on social media shows the cricketer returning from Ahmedabad on Thursday. In the clip, Virat is seen exiting the airport alone, carrying a bag and making his way swiftly towards his car. As photographers gathered around him for pictures, he removed his face mask and hurried ahead, explaining that his daughter was waiting inside the vehicle.Requesting the paparazzi to give him some space, Virat said, “Arey beti ko ghar leke jana hai yar please (I have to take my daughter home).”The moment quickly sparked reactions online. Many fans came out in support of the cricketer, applauding his efforts to protect his family’s privacy. “He is right…they need privacy,” one social media user wrote. Another commented, “That’s why they shifted to UK.”At the same time, some users questioned the presence of photographers at the airport. “They said paps airport tabhi ati hai jab they hv called there ….and then he will always request family hai abhi mat karo,” one comment read, while another simply asked, “Why do you call them??”The development comes shortly after Virat and Anushka were spotted together in Ahmedabad, where they posed with a fan and surprised her with handwritten notes. Photos from the interaction soon went viral online. “To Ashi, thank you for all the help. Best wishes from us,” the note from the couple read.Following Royal Challengers’ IPL 2026 triumph in Ahmedabad, the couple travelled to Vrindavan to seek blessings from Premanand Maharaj. They later visited Delhi before returning to London, where they currently reside.Their commitment to keeping their children away from the spotlight is not new. In 2021, shortly after welcoming daughter Vamika, Virat and Anushka released a joint statement urging the media and public not to circulate her photographs.“We seek privacy for our child and would like to do our best to give her a chance to live her life freely away from media and social media. As she is older we cannot restrict her movement and hence your support is needed so kindly practice restraint in the matter. Special thank you to fan clubs and people of the internet for going out of your way to not post images. It was kind and highly mature of you.”Virat and Anushka married in 2017 and remain one of India’s most-followed celebrity couples. They welcomed their daughter Vamika in 2021 and son Akaay in 2024. The family relocated to London in 2024 and has been based there ever since.
