The Bhatt family mourns the loss of Varsha Pravin Bhatt, who passed away at 85 due to organ failure after a kidney infection. Wife of legendary cinematographer Pravin Bhatt, known for his work in iconic films, and mother of director Vikram Bhatt, she was the matriarch of a family deeply rooted in Indian cinema.

The Bhatt family has been struck with grief as director Vikram Bhatt’s mother Varsha Pravin Bhatt passed away at the age of 85 on Saturday. As per sources, Varsha breathed her last due to multiple organ failure following a severe kidney infection.HEr cremation would be taking place today afternoon at 2 PM. She was the wife of acclaimed cinematographer Pravin Bhatt, one of the most respected technicians in Indian cinema.Her husband, Pravin Bhatt, is a legendary cameraman who has worked on iconic films such as Sadak (1991), Agneepath (1990), Aashiqui (1990), Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), and Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin (1991). He has played a major role in shaping the visual language for generations to come. Her son, Vikram Bhatt, emerged as a successful filmmaker in the 1990s and early 2000s with films across genres. He is best known for directing hits like Ghulam (1998), the supernatural thriller Raaz (2002), and entertainers like Awara Paagal Deewana (2002), Kasoor (2001) and the Haunted series. Now even Vikram’s daughter Krishna has become part of movies as a director. Infact when Vikram made her debut in movies with Mukesh Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt, many believed that he was related to them but there is no blood relation between the Bhatt families. As Vikram and Pravin Bhatt grapple with this profound personal loss, the industry stands with them in solidarity, remembering her as the matriarch of a family that has given Hindi cinema some of its most memorable films
