Tamil star Vijay’s last film, ‘Jana Nayagan, ’ is finally gearing up for a theatrical release after many delays. The film now has a new date in talks and the latest reports suggest that the political action drama is set to be released on May 8, and the makers are expected to share an official update soon.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, the movie is said to release next month on May 8, 2026, worldwide. The makers are expected to announce it soon. This news has made fans very happy as they have been waiting for a long time.

Censor issues finally resolved

The film, backed by KVN Productions, had a tough time with the censor board. Because of this issue, the movie could not be released earlier. It was first planned for Pongal 2026. Even with record advance booking of over Rs. 100 crore, the release was stopped. Now it looks like all problems are solved. The path is finally clear for release.

‘Jana Nayagan’ leak

In addition to its legal battle with the CBFC, a few days ago, the film got leaked online. This may affect the box office numbers. Still, Vijay’s star power is very big. Fans will come to theatres to watch him. This is also said to be his final film. That makes it even more special. Because of this, the opening collections are expected to be huge.

About ‘Jana Nayagan’

Directed by H Vinoth, Vijay is said to play a former police officer. It also features Pooja Hegde as the leading lady, Bobby Deol playing the main villain, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mamitha Baiju and more.The film will release after the Tamil Nadu election results. The results may also affect how the movie performs in theatres. If people like the film, it can break many box office records in Tamil Nadu.
