As reported by NDTV, according to Customs sources, the SUV was allegedly smuggled from Bhutan, brought to Himachal Pradesh, re-registered, and then sold to the actor. However, the actor filed a petition recently, saying that all his vehicles were purchased legally from previous owners in India. The actor stressed that it was done with proper documentation and financial transactions completed as per the law.

Petition in Kerala High Court

Dulquer recently approached the Kerala High Court seeking the release of a 2004 Land Rover Defender that was seized earlier. In his petition, he emphasized that the SUV had originally been shipped by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to its regional delegation in New Delhi. He described the seizure as illegal and he highlighted that the Customs authorities failed to verify the documents he had submitted. Dulquer requested the court to cancel the seizure order and release his vehicle immediately.

Actor’s willingness to cooperate

As reported by Manorama Online, reiterating his readiness to submit all necessary licenses and documents, Dulquer stressed that he has always acted within the law and he alleges that officials refused to verify them and acted with a preconceived bias. The actor stated that the seizure and the narratives built around it caused him “serious embarrassment.” Rumors linking him to gold smuggling, narcotics, and even anti-national activities, he said, have unfairly tarnished his reputation.Meanwhile, on the work front, Dulquer Salmaan recently announced the second part of ‘Lokah’ which will have Tovino Thomas in the lead.
