‘Varanasi’ official synopsis: Film to be a time-travel saga

‘Varanasi’ official synopsis revealed; SS Rajamouli’s next with Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj to be a time-travel saga

SS Rajamouli, the visionary filmmaker behind global blockbusters ‘RRR’ and ‘Baahubali’, is now gearing up for his next big action-adventure film, ‘Varanasi’. Billed as his most ambitious project yet, the teaser of ‘Varanasi’, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj, was unveiled at a grand event in Hyderabad. The clip that unveiled the film’s official title, also teased fans with story blending action, adventure and mythology with stunning visuals. Now, posts featuring the film’s ‘official synopsis’ has been circulating online. According to the post, the synopsis was shared on Letterbox and teased a time-travel saga set to unfold on the big screens.

‘Varanasi’ synopsis revealed

At a time when the MCU has been making waves at the box office with their time-travel adventures across the multiverse, Rajamouli’s next saga will just be turning back the clock to a time that even predates history.

‘Varanasi’ to be a time-travel saga

The post reads, “When an asteroid hits the city of Varanasi in India, what are the events that it leads to? Is the world about to be doomed? Does it need a saviour who has to traverse across the continents and timelines to influence the most crucial moment in the history of Earth?”

Mahesh Babu in a dual role

This brief logline seems to confirm that Varanasi will plunge into full-fledged time travel, taking audiences across continents and eras of heros, kings and gods while attempting to rewrite destiny. Though character details remain under wraps, industry speculation suggests Mahesh Babu may play the central “saviour” figure, navigating multiple timelines and also playing the role of Lord Ram.
