‘Tu Yaa Main’ the adventure-romance starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor in lead roles, saw good growth at the box office on Saturday. The film that was released in time for the Valentine’s weekend, saw its collections double on the day 2. As per early box office estimates on Sacnilk, the film began its box office run with a collection of Rs 60 lakh. On its first Saturday, the film saw its numbers increase to an estimated Rs 1.4 crore. This taked its overall two-day total to an estimated Rs 2 crore net.
Meanwhile, the film’s gross total collection is estimated to be around Rs 2.35 crore. The film is now its lead actress, Shanaya’s highest-earning film to date. ‘Tu Yaa Main’ shot past the lifetime collection of ‘Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan’ (Rs 1.77 crore) in just two days. Meanwhile, the film is just a few crore shy of also becoming Gaurav’s highest-earning film. Currently, ‘Superboys of Malegaon’ holds the number 1 spot for the actor, with a total net collection of Rs 5.32 crore. ‘Tu Yaa Main’ released over the Valentine’s day weekend and clashed with the Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri starrer ‘O’ Romeo’, which took a major bite out of the box office collections, with a total 2-day haul of Rs 20 crore. Meanwhile, the war-drama ‘Border 2’, which is in its fourth week, took a slight edge over ‘Tu Yaa Main’, earning an estimated Rs 2.7 crore at the box office. While ‘O’ Romeo’ topped the weekend box office, ‘Border 2’ is currently second and ‘Tu Yaa Main’ is currently in the third spot. With Sunday’s collections still to be added in, it remains to be seen how well the three films perform. Tu Yaa Main revolves around the social media influencers whose romantic getaway takes a deadly turn when they find themselves trapped in a swimming pool with a crocodile. The films have also been facing some competition from the Hollywood release, ‘Wuthering Heights’. The Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi starrer, which received an A rating, has been struggling at the box office. The film earned just Rs 30 lakh on its opening day and an additional Rs 66 lakh on Day 2. This pushed its overall total to an estimated Rs 96 lakh at the Indian box office.
