Deepika Padukone exits Spirit

Meanwhile, Deepika was initially signed to star opposite Prabhas in Spirit, marking her first collaboration with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. However, she reportedly opted out due to unmet demands during salary and schedule negotiations. Reports are rife that the actress had requested shorter working hours post-motherhood, a share of the film’s profits, and a higher fee, which didn’t fit the production plan. After Deepika’s exit, Triptii Dimri, who rose to fame with her role in Animal, was brought in as the female lead. The reunion of Vanga and Triptii grabbed headlines and sparked speculation about a possible fallout between Deepika and the director.

Vanga’s cryptic social media posts

Tensions rose when Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared cryptic posts on social media, widely seen as subtle digs at Deepika. Without mentioning her, the Kabir Singh director accused an actor of breaking an “unsaid NDA” by leaking details about the film’s story. He added, “Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for?” and tagged the post with #dirtyPRgames. Go to Source
