Tom Hardy FIRED from ‘Mobland’ Season 3

Tom Hardy FIRED from 'Mobland' Season 3 following 'problematic' on-set behaviour

Hollywood star Tom Hardy will reportedly not return for a potential third season of the hit gangster drama ‘MobLand’, following reports that the actor has allegedly been ‘fired’ afer wrapping up season 2.

Tom Hardy fired from ‘Mobland’ Season 3

As per a report on Puck, production on the show’s second season wrapped in March, after which Hardy was allegedly ‘let go’ from the series amid reports of behind-the-scenes tension. In his newsletter, Matt Belloni claimed the actor was considered ‘problematic’ during filming, alleging that Hardy frequently ‘arrived late to set’ and even reportedly ‘pushed for script changes and dialogue rewrites’ during production.

What went wrong?

Variety later confirmed the reports and stated that Hardy is not expected to return for a third season. Sources cited by the outlet claimed that the actor was not invited back following alleged issues with executive producer Jez Butterworth. While Paramount+ has yet to officially announce a third season, the report stated that it is still unclear how Hardy’s character could potentially be written out of the story. He plays the role of fixer Harry Da Souza in the series which also stars Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and Paddy Considine. The story centres on the powerful Harrigan crime family, led by Brosnan’s Conrad Harrigan and Mirren’s Maeve Harrigan, while Considine plays their son Kevin.

Tom Hardy’s past behaviour with Charlize Theron resurfaces

This is not the first time Hardy has reportedly faced challenges with colleagues on set during production. The actor previously made headlines for clashes with co-star Charlize Theron on the set of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. Director George Miller had later revealed that Hardy sometimes had to be “coaxed out of his trailer” during filming. Both Hardy and Theron eventually addressed the situation publicly, acknowledging the intense pressure of filming in the harsh desert conditions led to the clashes. Hardy later took responsibility for his behaviour, saying, “What she needed was a better, perhaps more experienced partner in me.”
