Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They Call Him OG’ inches towards Rs 14 crore collection for its premiere shows in North America

Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG has stormed North American advance bookings, minting USD 1.57M (₹13.81 Cr) with nearly 54,000 tickets sold, already surpassing Hari Hara Veer Mallu’s lifetime. Directed by Sujeeth, the film is eyeing a USD 2M premiere, ranking just behind Rajinikanth’s Coolie.The film marks Emraan Hashmi’s debut in Telugu films.

Pawan Kalyan is all set to be back on the big screen post the disastrous Hari Hara Veer Mallu. The film has taken an electrifying start at the advance ticket window which just 9 days to the premiere shows the film till now minted USD 1.57 million ( Rs 13.81 crore) in North America. The film has gone past the lifetime collection of superstar’s last release Hari Hara Veer Mallu which wrapped up its lifetime collection in the circuit of USD 1.22 million with just its premiere day collection. According to early reports, the film has minted USD 1.42 million from over 440 locations and having sold nearly 50,000 tickets just in the USA alone, while across the North American circuit total ticket sales has reached 54,000.

The film tells the story of Ojas Gambhir- an underworld don who has been underground for almost a decade, but he suddenly surfaces to exert revenge and reclaim his throne which is being challenged by Emraan Hashmi’s character. The film marks Emraan’s debut in Telugu films. The film is directed by Sujeeth who is best known for directing Prabhas in his first film post the super success of Baahubali series, Saaho. The film had gone on to collect Rs 310 crore at the box office. Going by the trend the film is expected to have a box office premiere day opening of at USD 2 million in the circuit,. With that it will become the biggest premiere day collection for a Pawan Kalyan film, it has already become the 2nd biggest premiere day collection of the year behind Rajinikanth’s Coolie in North America.
