'The Taj Story': Paresh Rawal breaks silence amid poster controversy, says ‘The movie does not deal with any religious matters’

Paresh Rawal’s upcoming film ‘The Taj Story’ recently stirred debate online. The film, written and directed by Tushar Amrish Goel, stars Paresh Rawal alongside Zakir Hussain, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sneha Wagh, and Namit Das.

The poster led to controversy

The controversy began when the film’s latest poster showed Paresh Rawal holding the top of the Taj Mahal, revealing a Lord Shiva idol inside. Many reacted online, questioning the theme of the film and its intent.Paresh Rawal had shared the poster on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle with the words, “What if everything you’ve been taught is a lie? The truth isn’t just hidden; it’s being judged. Unveil the facts with #TheTajStory on 31st October in cinemas near you.” The post was later deleted.

Makers insist the film focuses only on historical facts

In response, Paresh Rawal issued a statement on X (previously Twitter) on behalf of the makers, Swarnim Global Services Pvt. Ltd. He wrote, “Disclaimer. The makers of the film ‘The Taj Story’ clarify that the movie does not deal with any religious matters, nor does it claim that a Shiv temple resides within the Taj Mahal. It focuses solely on historical facts. We would kindly request you to watch the film and form your own opinion. Thank You, Swarnim Global Services Pvt. Ltd.”

Teaser highlights courtroom drama scenes

The teaser, released in August, featured a gripping courtroom scene with Paresh Rawal. He argues passionately about the intellectual erasure of an entire community, setting a serious tone for the film.’The Taj Story’ is scheduled to be released in cinemas on October 31.

Paresh Rawal on the work front

Apart from ‘The Taj Story’, Rawal will also be seen in the horror comedy ‘Thamma’, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He has also confirmed his return to the beloved comedy franchise ‘Hera Pheri 3’ alongside Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. Go to Source
