“THE EARS LOOK LONGER TO ME AM I CRAZY,” a fan tweeted and earned a reply from the director, who wrote, “You are not crazy.”

‘The Batman’ release schedule

The film was originally slated to release on October 1, 2027, but will now arrive nearly four months later. The revised schedule also means audiences will wait almost six years between the release of ‘The Batman’ in March 2022 and its sequel. This delay in the film’s release, will reportedly allow Reeves and his team additional time to complete the film’s extensive post-production and visual effects work. The delay also comes as part of a reported reshuffle of Warner Bros.’ theatrical slate. With the October 1, 2027 release slot now vacant, JJ Abrams’ fantasy film ‘The Great Beyond’, starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega, will now arrive on the selected date.’The Batman Part II’ will retain its IMAX release on its new date.

‘The Batman’ cast

The film’s returning cast members include Robert Pattinson as Batman, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin. The sequel will also introduce several new cast members, including Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Jayme Lawson, Charles Dance, Gil Perez-Abraham and Sebastian Koch.

James Gunn on ‘The Batman’ delay

DC Studios co-chair James Gunn defended the film’s delayed release, explaining in a note on threads, “To be fair, a 5-year gap or more is fairly common in sequels. 7 years between ‘Alien’ and ‘Aliens.’ 14 years between ‘Incredibles.’ 7 years between the first two ‘Terminators.’ 13 years between ‘Avatars.’ 36 years between ‘Top Guns.’ And, of course, six years between ‘Guardians Vol 2’ and ‘Vol 3.’”Warner Bros. also announced several other changes to its release calendar. Sam Esmail’s thriller ‘Panic Carefully’, starring Julia Roberts, has shifted from February 26, 2027 to April 9, 2027. The vacated February release date will now be occupied by ‘Revenge of La Llorona’. Go to Source
