Teyana confirms Leo was taking to her in Globes meme

Teyana Taylor confirms Leonardo DiCaprio was taking to her in viral Golden Globes meme - WATCH

Actor, singer and Golden Globes winner, Teyana Taylor has put an end to speculation surrounding a meme-worthy moment involving her ‘One Battle After Another’ co-star Leonardo DiCaprio at the Golden Globe Awards. The Hollywood superstar had everyone, including the Golden Globe organisers, trying to lip-read his animated conversation with someone across the room. While it was clear that he was taking about the ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ win, it was unclear what else or who he was chatting with. After the clip went viral and prompted popular lip readers to decipher what he had to say, Teyana has finally spilled the tea on the viral chat.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s goes viral

Teyana and Leo were taking about ‘KPop Demon Hunters’

Speaking to Access Hollywood, she confirmed, “He was talking to me!” Taylor said, laughing, as she explained, “The crazy part about it is I’m so blacked out from that day that I want to say we might have been talking about ‘KPop Demon Hunters because’ I was so happy when they won, because my kids loved ‘KPop Demon Hunters’.” “So I was over there just jamming, and I think he caught me jamming and that’s when we started talking about it.”

Teyana turned to lip-reader to understand Leo

Taylor admitted that she barely understood what DiCaprio was saying. She admitted, “I don’t even think I really even heard what he was saying. I probably was just laughing, keekeeing back and forth, and had no clue what he was saying.” Addressing the lip-reading theories that circulated online, Taylor added, “But don’t get me to lie. I don’t know, I just went right with the lip-reading lady. I do remember jamming so hard when ‘Golden’ came on and we went into this whole spill about how Junie and Rue love KPop Demon Hunters, but I didn’t know that the moment was being captured.”When told that many viewers were surprised to see DiCaprio being goofy, she said, “It makes so much more sense when I tell the story about us first meeting each other and we chew gum and we’re like… he’s chewing his gum and I’m chewing my gum. He’s a good time. Like, that is really my family.”

Teyana Taylor’s Golden Globes win

Teyana Taylor took home the first award of the night for her explosive supporting performance in ‘One Battle After Another’. A teary-eyed Taylor took the stage and accepted what could be the first of many awards for Paul Thomas Anderson’s film. “To my brown sisters and little brown girls watching tonight, our softness is not a liability. Our depth is not too much. Our light does not need permission to shine. We belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter and our dreams deserve space,” she said in her acceptance speech.

‘KPop Demon Hunters’ scores two Golden Globe wins
