'Tere Ishk Mein' box office collection day 2 (LIVE): The Dhanush, Kriti Sanon starrer expected to see growth on Saturday having the 8th biggest opening day of 2025

‘Tere Ishk Mein’ has left everyone surprised as the film had a great start at the box office on day 1. While it’s an intense Aanand L Rai love story wherein he collaborates with Dhanush and fans are nostalgic about ‘Raanjhanaa’, there were expectations from this one. While one expected the film to atleast touch Rs 10 crore mark, it has further surpassed that. It had great advance sales but the footfalls increased in the night shows on Friday night due to the buzz on social media. On day 1, the film opened at Rs 16 crore net in India and this includes largely from the Hindi version and not the Tamil version. The number of day 1 from the Tamil version is only Rs 75 lakhs. Trade experts are infact complaining that the movie should have been released in more screens in Tamil Nadu considering that it has a Tamil star like Dhanush. Trade expert, Sumil Kadel wrote on his social media, “I fail to understand why #TereIshkMein wasn’t given a proper release in Tamil Nadu, especially when the film is headlined by a major Tamil star like #Dhanush and also has a Tamil-dubbed version. It’s absolutely appalling. There was no competition, no screen-sharing issues, the film could have performed very well in its dubbed version in Tamil Nadu..”

Yet, despite that, the film is doing great in the Hindi belt. As far as day 2 is concerned, till afternoon the film has made is 3.15 crore. The total collection ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ so far now stands at Rs 19.15 crore. But the journey from here is equally crucial. The film now needs to maintain momentum, and only Monday will reveal whether it can convert this strong start into a HIT.’Tere Ishq Mein’ posted the eighth-highest opening day of the year, according to Box Office India. It’s been a relatively weak year for big openings, with ‘Chaava’ leading at around ₹30 crore nett. The film expected to hit a 50-crore opening—’War 2’—fell short of the hype. Other films that feature on this list include ‘War 2’, ‘Sikandar’, ‘Thamma’, ‘Housefull 5’ and ‘Saiyaara’. Among romantic films specifically, ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ has secured the second-best opening of 2025.
