Tejaswini: Shraddha broke down during Siddhanth drug case

Shraddha Kapoor broke down as slogans were raised outside her home during Siddhanth Kapoor drug case, recalls aunt Tejaswini Kolhapure

Shraddha Kapoor and her family have faced public scrutiny more than once, and in a recent interview, her aunt Tejaswini Kolhapure opened up about one of the most difficult phases they went through. Speaking about the drug bust case that led to Siddhanth Kapoor’s arrest, Tejaswini said the incident deeply affected the family, especially Shraddha. She maintained that Siddhanth, son of Shakti Kapoor, was “absolutely clean” and had simply landed in trouble due to circumstance.Tejaswini was referring to the 2022 Bengaluru case in which Siddhanth was arrested for allegedly consuming drugs at a rave party in a posh hotel. “Siddhanth has been in the wrong place at the wrong time and because he is from this family, his name gets highlighted,” she said during a chat with Siddharth Kannan. Siddhanth had earlier claimed that someone offered him a drink while he was DJ-ing at the party. He was later released on bail.

‘Media blew it out of proportion’

Recalling the immediate aftermath, Tejaswini said the family rushed to help Siddhanth. “The first time it happened, me and my husband went to get him out because he was with his friends, and we knew all his friends,” she said, adding that the “media blew it out of proportion.”“His name was everywhere in the papers. Uska naam kharab ho gaya,” she added. When asked directly if Siddhanth was clean when it came to drugs, Tejaswini firmly responded, “Of course.” She further explained that Siddhanth’s profession made the situation worse. “People are judgemental when it comes to the company you keep,” she said, adding that since he works as a DJ internationally, even indirect associations can damage his reputation.

‘Shraddha and Siddhanth were crying inside’

Tejaswini also recalled a disturbing incident when a political party staged a protest outside the family’s house, shouting slogans. The episode, she said, took a severe emotional toll on both siblings.“The way they got affected, it was terrible. One day, one political group was shouting slogans outside the house. Shraddha and Siddhanth were crying inside. Unfortunately, this was turned into a big deal. They were really affected,” she recalled. In November, Siddhanth appeared before the Mumbai police to record his statement in connection with a Rs 252 crore narcotics case linked to the seizure of mephedrone at a factory in Sangli in 2024. He was summoned after his name surfaced during the questioning of an alleged narcotics supplier.

Childhood memories and family bonds

In the same interaction, Tejaswini also shared lighter anecdotes from Shraddha’s childhood, revealing that her nickname was ‘chidki chidki lollypop’. “My mom always called her lolly, because she would drool a lot,” she recalled with a laugh. She added that Shraddha was a little reserved as a child but has grown into someone deeply connected with her family. “Now my relationship with her is quite different. She is there. She spends time. She sits for 5–6 hours and continues to talk,” she said. When asked if Shakti Kapoor ever objected to Shraddha working in films, Tejaswini dismissed the idea. “He was absolutely okay with her working. He knows how she is. She has a mind of her own, right from the beginning she has had a mind of her own. She is the apple of his eye,” she said. Go to Source
