Tabu on working with Karisma Kapoor, revealed what Babita called them; 'the hit pair of cinema'

Tabu expressed delight in partnering with Kareena Kapoor Khan on ‘The Crew,’ noting a nostalgic connection from her previous work with Kareena’s sister, Karisma Kapoor. She reminisced about how their mother, Babita, affectionately referred to them as ‘the hit pair of cinema,’ a charming memory that enveloped her in warmth.

Tabu once looked back at her long screen connection with Karisma Kapoor while speaking about working with Kareena Kapoor Khan in ‘The Crew.’ The actor said Karisma and Kareena’s mother, Babita, had a warm name for Tabu and Karisma because of the films they did together. Her comment highlighted the comfort she felt when joining a project with Kareena, even though the two had not shared a similar screen history before.

According to Outlook India, Tabu spoke about the bond with Rhea Kapoor during a Vogue interview. She recalled her work with Karisma Kapoor and said that the link made Kareena Kapoor Khan feel familiar with her.“I’ve worked with your sister in so many movies. I remember Babita used to call us “the hit pair of cinema,” so you feel familiar to me by extension. Kriti is so beautiful and hard-working, and I’m sure it’s going to be fun. You know how you get into a project knowing what you want from it? I’m certain I’ll derive a lot of happiness and joy from working on this film,” Tabu said.Tabu and Karisma worked together in several Hindi films, including ‘Saajan Chale Sasural,’ ‘Biwi No.1,’ ‘Haseena Maan Jaayegi’ and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain.’ Their comic timing and presence helped make them a memorable pair for audiences who followed 1990s Hindi cinema.

Their films remain part of popular Hindi film memory, and Babita’s nickname captured that bond simply.
