Tabu joins Akshay Kumar's ‘Bhooth Bangla’, drops post with clapboard photo: 'Hum yahan bandh hain'

Tabu joins Akshay Kumar’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, reuniting with Priyadarshan after 14 years. Following Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 success, she posted a clapperboard pic captioned “Hum yahan bandh hain” from Jaipur shoot. Paresh Rawal stars too; fans hype Manjulika-Dr. Aditya crossover. Tabu is back in horror-comedies after shining in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. She is now part of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bhooth Bangla’ cast. The film reunites Akshay with Priyadarshan after 14 years, Akshay shared his excitement on social media in September. On Sunday, the actress made her own announcement on social media.

Paresh Rawal and Jaipur shoot

Previously, Akshay Kumar announced on social media that Paresh Rawal is also joining the upcoming entertainer. Now with Tabu added to the star cast, she shared the news excitedly with her social media followers by posting a clapperboard photo captioned, “Hum yahan bandh hain.” Reports indicate the team is shooting in Jaipur right now, and Tabu has joined them for this schedule.

Ektaa Kapoor’s warm welcome

Tabu, who joined Ektaa Kapoor on the hit film ‘Crew’, got a hearty welcome from the producer, who’s also involved in this horror-comedy. Ektaa left a comment on the post: “Aaapka swaaagat hai always an honour tabu mam.”

Fans are thrilled about this collaboration, which brings Akshay and Tabu back together on screen after nearly twenty years. Many netizens are calling it a crossover between Manjulika from ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and Akshay’s Dr. Aditya Srivastava from ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. One fan commented, “Manjulika meeting Dr Aditya Shrivastava,” while others wrote, “full bhul bhulaiya 1 wali wibes also priyadarshan sir direction” and “the Dream Cast… I think its Real Next Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2nd Part”.

Production details

Directed by Priyadarshan, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films. The story is written by Akash A Kaushik and screenplay by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair and Priyadarshan. The film is slated for its theatrical release on April 2, 2026.
