Swara Bhasker shares how Salman Khan mentored her to become a heroine on ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ set: ‘He was so invested’

Swara Bhasker fondly recalled Salman Khan mentoring her on playing a female lead in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.’ He guided her on entering scenes and smiling correctly. She praised his kindness towards her and her husband. Swara played Princess Chandrika, Salman’s character’s younger sister, in the 2015 film.

Swara Bhasker fondly remembered her time on the ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ set when Salman Khan mentored her on playing a female lead in films. She recounted in an interview how they spent an entire day on the film sets, with Salman patiently showing her the right way to enter a scene and smile.Salman’s reaction to her tweets about the filmSpeaking to Bollywood Bubbles, Swara was asked if Salman ever told her not to tweet about their film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. To this, Swara replied, “No, he doesn’t say that upfront; he says later, ‘You’ve created a mess!’ Has he ever told me not to tweet about these things? Yes, he has. He said, ‘You’ve set your own career on fire!’”.Desire for heroine rolesShe went on, “He is very nice, very kind to me, Salman sir. I remember a lovely conversation during Prem Ratan’s time. I was sitting while the question-answer session was going on. He said, ‘It’s great, you did this film, now you will get a lot of work.’ I replied, ‘Yes sir, I will get work, but I want the kind of work that a heroine gets, I want to get heroine roles.’ He looked at me like this and said, ‘You want to become a heroine?’ I said, ‘Yes, why not?’”.Guidance on becoming a heroineThe actress continued by asking if every man wants to play supporting roles for life, noting that every actor has that ambition inside. She said he told her to stop those boyish habits first if she wanted to become a heroine. He then gave her a tutorial on how to become a heroine, advising her to fix her hair and appearance, pay attention to her entrance, smile a little but less, and confirmed that her current smile was good. She felt very happy and thought that he was genuinely invested.Memories from the shoot and meeting Salman’s kindnessShe recalled that throughout the shoot, he kept telling her, “I taught you to smile this much, so smile exactly that much!”.Although they don’t meet often, she revealed that she took her husband, Fahad to meet him a few months ago. Fahad was so happy to see him. He left her outside and went inside saying, “Hello! I’m Fahad Ahmed!” She told Salman sir, “Sir, this is my husband, the man who left me outside and ran inside!”She also expressed gratitude for Salman’s kindness and the warm welcome he extended to the both of them, and revealed that he was not only a gracious host, but also made sure to feed them before they left.Current relationship with Salman KhanWhen asked if she stays in touch with Salman, the actress said, “No, what do you mean by staying in touch? No, I meet him only if I want to go or meet. So, we stay in touch on and off. Recently, I have not been in touch.”Role in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’Swara Bhasker appeared alongside Salman in the 2015 film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, directed by Sooraj Barjatya.
