Swara Bhasker recalls messaging Aditya Chopra for Salman Khan's 'Sultan' but got rejected, 'Mujhe kabhi sharam nahi aayi kisi se'

Swara Bhasker recently opened up about her gutsy attempt to reach out to Aditya Chopra for a part in Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan,’ suggesting herself for a wrestling role. While Chopra politely declined, Bhasker proudly states that seeking out opportunities is part of her journey as an independent artist. Her approach to career growth is straightforward: ‘I should ask for it.’

Swara Bhasker recently opened up about messaging Aditya Chopra for a role in Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’. The actress also shared the producer’s reply to her message. Swara expressed that she never feels ashamed about asking for work. Here’s what the ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ actress revealed.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Swara Bhasker recalled asking Aditya Chopra for a role in Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’. She said, “Maine toh Aditya Chopra ko message kar diya tha, ‘Sir, le lo na mujhe’ (I had messaged Aditya Chopra saying, ‘Sir, please cast me’).”She revealed sending a message to Aditya Chopra that read, “I think, sir, aapko mujhe cast karna chahiye; main bahut acchi pehelwan banungi (I think, sir, you should cast me; I can become a good wrestler).”The actress recalled Aditya Chopra replying, “Nahi, mujhe aisa nahi lagta, Swara (No, I don’t think so, Swara).”In the same interview, Swara Bhasker shared that she had no one who would call and recommend her for a movie. She said, “Maine jo bhi kiya hai, maine cheen-cheen ke liya hai, ya apne dum pe—jaise bhi mila mujhe (“Whatever I have done, I have taken it by snatching it, or by my own strength—however I got it).”

Swara Bhasker shares she never feels ashamed to ask for work

Swara Bhasker then shared that she is quite polite in every other aspect of her life, but when it comes to asking for work, she said, “mujhe kabhi sharam nahi aayi kisi se. Mujhe lagta hai woh toh ekdum fine hai—I should ask for it (I have never felt ashamed of anyone. I feel like that is absolutely fine—I should ask for it).”She expressed that she doesn’t like it, but she still does, because she feels one should not hesitate. Swara shared that she always tells everyone, “I’d love to work with you. Please cast me; consider me.”The actress concluded, saying that she has not asked for work since she got pregnant.The actress was last seen in the film ‘Jahaan Chaar Yaar’. It was released in the year 2022.
